5 books on fashion to read this winter

Cold winter nights are that time of year when you’re sitting by a cozy fireplace in a country house on the outskirts of Paris, or in an apartment somewhere on the 110th floor of Manhattan, or in any other home in any other part of the world. It’s so cold outside that sometimes all you want to do is pour yourself a glass of wine and read an interesting book. So, The Fashiongton Post decided to share with you five of our favorite books about fashion.

1) The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden

Bill Cunningham’s street fashion photography captures the evolution of style, trends and everyday life in New York City and Paris. But his work also shows that street style is not just about fashion – it’s about people and an ever-changing culture. The book includes some rare photographs that have never been published before.

3) Chanel: Collections and Creations by Danièle Bott

4) Tokyo Diaries by André Príncipe & Marco Martins

Over the course of a month, the two Portuguese filmmakers shot hours of 16mm film and thousands of photographs of the streets of Tokyo in a completely improvised manner, documenting their daily lives, as well as their encounters with photographers such as Keizo Araki, Daido Moriyama, Takuma Nakahira, Hiromix, Kohei Yoshiyuki, and Shoin Kajii.
