How turmeric can help with weight loss

Turmeric is a tuberous vegetable with a distinctive golden yellow hue that is native to Asia. Turmeric has been around for thousands of years. Today, the spice is used by more than one billion people every day and is widely available.

Curcumin, the main active ingredient in turmeric, gives the root its characteristic golden color and also boosts the immune system and slows cellular aging.

Can you lose weight with turmeric?

Nutritional studies have shown that turmeric helps promote weight loss, reduce fat gain and inhibit weight gain. In addition, turmeric is beneficial for weight loss because it contains B vitamins, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids, while maintaining a very low calorie count.

How to use turmeric for weight loss?

The most interesting and delicious option is to cook “golden milk”, which is a combination of sweet, bitter, sour and spicy flavors. It is also sometimes called “turmeric latte”.

Ingredients

Coconut milk – 400 ml
Turmeric – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon powder – 1 teaspoon
Salt – according to your preference
Black pepper powder – as you like
Vanilla powder – as you like
Maple syrup – 2 teaspoons
How to make the rice:

Heat coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until light steam appears;
Add the turmeric, cinnamon, vanilla, salt and black pepper and mix gently;
remove the milk from the heat, allow it to cool slightly and add the maple syrup;
taste the milk and adjust the amount of spices if necessary;
Bring the golden milk to a boil and turn off the heat;
Strain the drink through a fine mesh sieve. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with cinnamon.
